What’s new in Prism
Updates to Search, Ask and your connected sources.
1.7.1 · A quieter interface
The palette, settings and conversations put the task at hand first. Source diagnostics and index maintenance move out of the everyday search flow.
- A compact palette footer replaces competing status and shortcut rows. Empty native lookup results and duplicate recent queries no longer add noise.
- Settings separates General, Sources, AI, Search & prompts, Advanced and About & updates. Sources shows active and paused connections, with configuration for the source you select.
- Search and Ask stay in the mode you choose. Ask retrieves fresh context, collapses earlier results and offers Stop and Jump to latest controls.
- Search conversation history, export from the conversation header and see update download progress. Setup starts with a folder and describes what is ready accurately.
- Escape dismisses the topmost overlay. Destructive confirmations focus Cancel, enabling one source leaves other paused sources alone and interrupted answers are marked incomplete.
Check for updates under Settings → About & updates. Native lookup settings now live under Sources → Local Files → Apps and filenames.
1.7.0 · Apps and filenames
Find local names as you type in the palette or Search panel. macOS uses Spotlight for apps and filenames; Windows uses Everything for filenames.
- Enable the feature under Settings → Services → Apps and filenames. It starts off, and Windows filename lookup requires Everything running under the same user account.
- Use the arrow keys to select a result and Enter to open it. With no selection, Enter runs normal knowledge search. Native lookup stays responsive while your other sources work.
- File matches follow your approved folders, supported extensions and ignore rules. Native names and paths stay outside Ask and AI summaries.
Application lookup is available on macOS. Linux retains existing knowledge search. The OS index can be incomplete or stale, so a missing name match does not prove that a file is absent.
1.6.0 · Seven more sources
Search Linear, ClickUp, Outline, Joplin, Wiki.js, Ghost and Karakeep from the desktop palette. Ask can use readable passages from each source and link back to the original.
- Configure personal API tokens in Settings. New sources start disabled, and keys stay in the operating system keychain.
- Narrow Linear to a team, ClickUp to a list, Outline to a collection or Ghost to a tag. ClickUp and Ghost support scopes of up to 500 tasks or posts.
- Clear optional filters without erasing saved credentials. Changing a source URL requires entering a key for its new destination.
Joplin needs its desktop Web Clipper service running. Wiki.js needs read:pages and read:source access. Ghost reads published content available through its Content API. Karakeep uses stored articles and notes; attachments are not extracted. Linear and ClickUp use personal tokens, with OAuth sign-in separate.
1.5.0 · Follow the conversation
- Ask follow-ups such as “summarize those” retrieve the previous topic through currently enabled sources. Saved conversations retain their citations.
- Approved local folders refresh on your configured schedule. Added, changed and removed files are reflected in the local index.
- Model System Prompt preferences apply to Ask and search summaries while preserving grounding rules.
- Source controls, embedding destination checks and updater validation are enforced across the app.
